Host a Marrow Donor Drive
On any given day, more than 6,000 men, women and children are searching the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry for a life-saving donor. Someone in your workplace, organization or community could be the best match for one of those patients.

You can help Kids Beating Cancer recruit donors and save lives. Partner with Kids Beating Cancer to host a donor recruitment drive.  With your support, more patients can access the treatment they so desperately need.

Become a committed partner
Join the corporations and organizations -- of all sizes, from office settings to college campuses, to community events -- holding marrow donor recruitment drives across the country. Kids Beating Cancer will help you tailor a marrow donor recruitment campaign to your specific setting and execute it smoothly and efficiently.

How it works
Kids Beating Cancer will work with you to plan your organization's financial commitment and/or scale of volunteer recruitment. We hope that marrow donor recruitment will become an ongoing part of the culture of your organization.   Kids Beating Cancer will work with you to manage the process of educating potential donors and helping them join NMDP Registry.   If someone from your recruitment campaign becomes a match for a patient, the local Donor Center closest to you will work with that person through each step of the donation process . To see what other organizations have done, see: Case study: United States Postal Service .

Information for individuals
You don't have to be a large corporation or organization to help Kids Beating Cancer add donors to the NMDP Registry. Many patient families, friends and other individuals are successfully recruiting donors every day with Kids Beating Cancer.

Steps to Host a Donor Recruitment Drive

1. Select a date, time, and place that is easily accessible to the targeted audience, allowing enough time to inform your targeted audience.

2. Determine methods of getting information out to the targeted audience;  such as an employee newsletter, church bulletin, monthly meetings, employee presentation, payroll inserts, and posting flyers and posters.

3. Secure funding if necessary

4. Schedule time for a presentation or to view a video

5. Recruit volunteers to assist with flow and tasks at the drive

6. Email targeted audience, when appropriate, to give facts of information, point of contact for questions, to schedule a time to be tested on day of drive, and to remind attendance on the day of the drive.

7. Set up table(s) and chairs based on the number attending the drive

8. KBC will bring the medical supplies, trained staff, and paper needed to facilitate the registering and testing of willing volunteers.

9. OR schedule KBC to attend a meeting of employees or a gathering of people, KBC can pass out kits for interested volunteers to do their cheek swabing in the privacy of their homes and return the kits to KBC the next day by mail or KBC will pickup.
