As a mother who had a child with a life-threatening disease and who struggled for four years with highs and lows of various treatments, hospitalizations, nutritional challenges, school, finances, home nursing, and family issues. I found my greatest support came from other parents, especially those with similar diseases and treatments. If your child has cancer, leukemia, or a related life-threatening disease, you may find comfort in meeting with other parents struggling with issues similar to yours. Kids Beating Cancer sponsors a parent support group that is parent run, thus allowing the parents to decide if they want a speaker on a specific topic to come to their meeting, when and how often they want to meet, and the format of their meeting. Parents decide if they want to expand and have outings. Parents can decide if they want to break up in smaller groups for ‘disease specific’ issues. We just want to provide you with the space and the tools to meet your needs. We would like to invite you to the next meeting. Childcare for siblings and patients will be provided upon request. Please respond at (407) 894-2888 or email if you would be interested in coming, how many will attend, and any other questions you might have about the meeting, format, or childcare issues. Sincerely, |
